How do I know if I need repair or replacement?

If your HVAC system is relatively new and experiencing minor issues, an HVAC repair service is likely the best solution. However, if your unit is 10 years or older, requires frequent costly repairs, or has significantly dropped in efficiency, replacing the system may be a more cost-effective option in the long run.

How often should I service my HVAC system?

Since air conditioning systems are essential for Floridians year-round, it’s recommended that newer systems undergo professional maintenance once a year, while older systems should be serviced twice annually to ensure optimal performance.

How can I improve my indoor air quality in my home?

Homeowners can take several steps to enhance indoor air quality. Start by sealing your duct system to prevent unwanted air from entering the home. Next, clean your existing system or consider installing an effective air filtration system.

How do I choose the right AC unit?

There are many factors that go into determining the right AC unit. The first of which is finding the right company for you. Others include the brand of equipment you are wanting, size of the home, ductwork sizing, insulation levels and home construction materials.

How can I save money with my AC?

There are a number of ways to save money on your AC system. You could upgrade to a newer one especially if yours is over 10 years old. Units at that age have wear and tear and dont operate at peak performance anymore. Another way is upgrading to a smart thermostat so you can set the temperature higher when you leave the house. Also making sure your ducts are properly sealed, Insulation level is high enough, you are changing your air filter regularly and you are scheduling preventative maintenance.

What air filters should I use?

There are many air filters on the market. Finding the correct one could be difficult. We recommend FAAR 30/30 filters or GlassFloss.These filters don’t restrict air flow for the unit and they catch dust, hair and other things from going through your unit. When people select a filter we don’t recommend getting a high MERV rating (13 and up) unless the unit is specifically designed for it. The knitting on the filter can restrict airflow and damage the equipment.

How do I properly maintain the drain line?

In Florida drains are the most common service call we go on. There are some steps you can do to keep your drain from backing up. First being changing your air filter every month. While you are changing it there should be a clean out T for the drain. If you take that off you can pour a cup of bleach or vinegar down the line to help keep the algae from growing in the drain line.
